Modeling & Simulation

Weapon Systems Performance

Description: The main objectives of the work are to develop and implement a data model suitable for information exchange between Situation Analysis and Information Fusion (SAIF) applications, to design and develop an infrastructure to achieve interoperability between heterogeneous and distributed SAIF applications, to analyse and subsequently modify some existing software components to enable their integration and sharing through the previously designed infrastructure. The data must be exchanged by HLA and other means of communication. The design of the federates, the implementation, testing, validation and documentation was completed by LTI. Different FOMS were considered (RPR 1.0, 2.0 and VMSA), and a recommendation was made by LTI.

HLA Federation of Crane Operations

Description: The main objective of the works is to implement a federation of crane operations onboard a ship using High Level Architecture (HLA). The project is divided in 2 phases. The first phase consists to literature survey and federation design. The shipboard cranes operated on Canadian naval vessels and models of cranes suggested in the open literature are the mains subjects of the literature review. The works on federation design concentrated on selections of a suitable Run-Time Infrastructure (RTI) and a basis Federate Object Model (FOM), and the development of extensions to the FOM for the crane operations. The second phase is the development of the HLA federation based on the works of the first phase.

M&S Analyse de la situation

Description: The development of the client M&S capabilities required the definition of realistic scenarios, serving to demonstrate situations and/or concepts. Over the years, many scenarios were developed for many tools with characteristics inherent to each of these tools. After some time, the need to make an inventory of all the scenarios and define criteria for classification and evaluation of scenarios has arisen.

The project objectives are: To perform an inventory of the main scenarios and vignettes related to Command and Control (C2) used or studied by the client, to analyze and document the scenarios that are still relevant for the client, to implement specific scenarios and vignettes that best suit the client objectives, and to give support to the client activities.
