Louis Tanguay is the president of LTI software & engineering since 1999, a firm recently honored as recipient of the "Mérite Commercial Desjardins" (February 2009), the Fidéides 2009 as a finalist in the category "Jeune entreprise innovante" and as a winner in the category "Entreprise de l’année (petite entreprise)". LTI provides multidisciplinary consulting services in software, engineering and physics to clients of the Defense field and aims at the transport, energy and health fields. Louis Tanguay is currently projects director and works for the diversification and expansion of the firm.
Previously
Louis Tanguay completed a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering at Laval University in 1992 and began a career as a full time consultant in 1991 (Navtech / NAVWAR). He continued his career at APG in 1993, was involved in starting a consulting firm with other partners in 1997 (DMA), and eventually start his own consulting firm in IT (LTI software & engineering). Developing extensive consulting experience over the years, Louis Tanguay went from Analyst Programmer, to team leader, to R&D project manager and eventually projects director for different object-oriented mandates for the Government of Quebec, Federal Government, municipalities and private companies. Louis Tanguay's expertise lies in managing IT teams, in developping object oriented software, artificial intelligence (Blackboard system) and support for R&D. In 2009, Louis Tanguay was awarded the title of laureate of the week by Le Soleil and Radio-Canada (April 19, 2009) and Le Devoir has devoted a page on his history (June 22, 2009 "Louis Tanguay, de décrocheur à employeur primé").
Otherwise
Louis likes skiing, cycling, scuba diving and love riding motorcycles (BMWs live). He enjoy listening Blues and Jazz, but also likes Rock, Classical, etc. He founded the Dirty Thirties, winner blues band of the 1991 Pro Scene contest. He plays guitar since 1978. Louis learned to love outdoor activities (camping, canoeing, hiking) as a child, having been in the Scout movement from the cubs to venturers, to become a volunteer leader for 6 years. Louis lives in Quebec, loves to travel with his family, is a father of 2 boys and walks is 2 dogs with his wife. He believes in a balance between family life, professional life, arts and sports.
