When he left Laval University in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in computer engineering in hand, Louis Tanguay did not know that a few years later he would head a successful business.

After working several years in computer science, it was in that he founded his company, Louis Tanguay Informatique. The company, which has only one employee then was supposed to allow him to win enough contracts for himself. At that time, the market was good and Louis saw with confidence the next two or three years. But after only a few months, he is already overloaded and must recruit.

Initially, the contracts awarded to LTI are specific to some sections of DRDC Valcartier. Then, the good reputation and experience of LTI enable it to win new contracts with other sections. This good reputation is based on the professionalism of LTI and the importance given to customers. In July 2005, LTI obtains ISO certification after months of hard work to define its processes. This certification is a concrete demonstration of the constant concern for quality of service felt by LTI.

Over the contracts, Louis gradually builds the business by hiring graduates from various universities, including Université Laval and Université de Sherbrooke, among others. Then, in 2007, LTI hires graduates in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and physics and thus begins to expand its field of expertise to include engineering. That's when Louis Tanguay Informatique officially becomes LTI Software & Engineering. Marking out this recruitment period, LTI has been named among the 2006-2007 Top 100 recruiters employers of the Service de Placement de  l'Université Laval.

Together with its local growth, LTI began in 2008 to expand its range of activity. Thereby LTI is awarded a first contract with DRDC Atlantic in May 2008, followed by a contract with DRDC Ottawa in March 2009. It’s also in 2009 that LTI begins to diversify through agreements with new partners.

Just named "Small Business of the Year" in March 2009, with growing business and with experience and proven expertise, LTI sees the future with confidence!
